Volunteering is one of the best ways to connect with the community; especially for newcomers to town. Here’s just one of the many opportunities to improve the quality of Austin life.

Join us this Saturday for a park restoration project at Willowbrook Reach.

Saturday, April 9, 2011 from 9AM to Noon.

Together we’ll do some restoration work, clean up the creek and help plant 150 native plants. Bring shovels, gloves and long pants. Afterward, there will be a party at Waterloo Park for all volunteers. (Get a wrist band when you sign in if you wish to attend.)

Instead of major earth work and hardscape, a restoration plan was devised. Now native vegetation is being planted along the creek. This restoration effort was started August 2010 and will continue for three to five years.
